Our Guiding Principles

We center those most impacted by oppression

We ensure that everyone is represented and has the opportunity to be heard. We invite representatives from these communities to set the agenda, lead the conversation, and direct our actions to acknowledge privilege and dismantle systems of oppression.

We are committed to collaboration

We are guided by the desire to work together as one cohesive network to support each other's efforts and share resources efficiently. We are committed to elevating the voices of our underrepresented communities, ensuring they are advising, dictating, shaping, and influencing our work.

We are guided by compassion

We are committed to holding space for our communities’ growth and transformation with openness and empathy.

We practice mutual respect

We must hold ourselves and each other accountable to the highest standard of humility, kindness, and humanity. Our timing, words, and tone have power. We will be actively anti-racist in our approach and will commit to meeting people where they are and moving forward together.

We are results-oriented

We work collaboratively to identify the problems, create actions, and achieve measurable results. Past results inform future planning.

We practice transparency

We communicate our processes and actions clearly, consistently, and reliably. We convey our past actions, our present approaches, and our future plans with compassion, respect, and in accessible ways.

We are guided by and value collective lived experiences

We create opportunities and platforms for community members to share their experiences and we elevate their voices. We are made stronger by our commitment to members, communities, and the people we serve. Our spaces should expand to include those not yet heard.
